Before you open it
Is the spreadsheet free?
It is. Opening it commits you to nothing and costs nothing. The Ocean Tax team may reach out on WhatsApp about the calculator, and only about that.
Do I need to know my ICMS and PIS/COFINS rates?
The spreadsheet comes with reference values filled in (12% ICMS or ISS and 3.65% PIS, COFINS and IPI, on net sales). For your company, check both with your accountant before deciding a price: they change with the latest tax figures.
Is the result the price I should charge?
It is a reference number, calculated with your cost, your margin and the official schedule. The final price also depends on the market, on competitors and on the negotiation with each customer. The math does not include IRPJ and CSLL, which apply to profit.
